Project description
The project “Upgrading the town port of Sali on Dugi otok” included the expansion of the port by constructing 149,5 m of shoreline, i.e. 141.5 m of net length on the mooring line, landscaping of the coastal area along the newly built shores, and construction of breakwaters for wave protection in a length of 116 m.
On December 15, 2023, the works on the extension of the city port of Sali were completed, and on December 18, 2023, a technical inspection was carried out. The second phase involved finalizing activities to eliminate deficiencies identified by the technical inspection of the structure, the drafting of the Handover Record, and the final settlement.
Project results
The project “Upgrading the town port of Sali on Dugi otok” increased maritime traffic safety in the port, ensured year-round transport services, and enhanced the connection between Dugi otok and the mainland, thereby improving accessibility for the island’s residents.
The project having been implemented, the port of Sali meets the safety requirements for accepting ships even in bad weather. The investment in the expansion of the port of Sali has enabled the smooth functioning of regular and high-speed ship traffic. The capacity, quality and safety of moorings in the port of Sali have been increased, the drainage and water supply of the area have been resolved, and the coastal zone has been improved. The above represents a direct positive impact on the quality of life of the population, stopping the emigration of the island’s population, contributing to the island’s sustainable development and the maintenance of line traffic.
