Project description

The project envisages the improvement of the infrastructure of the Port of Ika by constructing a secondary breakwater (Phase 4) and the western shore (Phase 6) to protect the port waters and provide operational shores and areas for the local population and economy.

The existing primary breakwater will be completely removed and a new secondary breakwater will be built, which will be partly constructed in the same position as the existing pier and extended by 60 m. The planned total length of the breakwater is 106 m measured from the outside, and it is intended to moor 33 boats 5 – 6.5 m long. The top of the breakwater will be constructed with an extension of 11 m to shield the port area and to allow for the docking of vessels. The project on the western shore includes the construction of a pier 67.50 m long and 3.0 m wide, intended for the mooring of 22 vessels using the utility berths.

Project goal

The project aims to ensure the safety of navigation and the accommodation of vessels in the port, the protection of the property of the port and its users, and the provision of sufficient capacity of communal moorings.

The extension of the port of Ika will provide the local population and economy with 55 new communal moorings in a single functional location.
