Project description

The project “Preparation of the Environmental Impact Study and Design Documentation for the Regulation of the Sava River on the Račinovci–Sisak Section” includes the preparation of technical, study, and design documentation necessary for planning future works on the regulation of the Sava River waterway along the section from river kilometre 210.8 (Račinovci) to river kilometre 594 (Sisak).

As part of the project, the condition of the river sections from Račinovci to Sisak—excluding the Jaruge–Novi Grad section—will be analysed, and interventions will be planned to define technical solutions for ensuring navigability of the river. The activities include the preparation of an environmental impact study, main and conceptual designs, and expert background studies.

Project goal

The aim of the project is to provide the professional and technical prerequisites for the regulation and improvement of the Sava River waterway on the section from Račinovci to Sisak.

Through the implementation of the project, optimal technical solutions will be defined for riverbed regulation and the improvement of navigation conditions in accordance with international standards. The project contributes to the planning of measures aimed at enhancing navigation safety and improving water resource management efficiency. In doing so, it lays the foundation for future infrastructure works focused on developing sustainable and well-connected inland waterway transport within the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T).
