Project description

TISGRADE focuses on the large-scale implementation of data collection systems, the digitization of Traffic Circulation Plans and Temporary Traffic Management Measures, and the deployment of robust data quality validation tools and processes.

The TISGRADE initiative brings together 54 partners from 20 EU Member States and Norway, representing national, regional and local road authorities, NAPs and major European service providers.

Key activities of TISGRADE include:

  • Development of data collection and digitization tools.
  • Validation and quality control of static and dynamic datasets, in particular maximum speeds, road works and road and lane closures.
  • Upgrades of National Access Points (NAPs) to enhance interoperability.
  • Establishment of a public-private feedback loop to continuously improve data quality.

Project goal

Goal of the project is to align and enhance the currently fragmented development of ITS traffic information services across Europe.

By enabling better traffic information, the project supports safer, smoother, and more sustainable travel choices. And ultimately, this will lead to a more efficient use of the TEN-T core road network and its urban nodes, improving accessibility, safety, and liveability — fully aligned with the ambitions of the European Green Deal.
