Project description

The project covers an infrastructure road safety upgrade on the A3 motorway Bregana – Zagreb – Lipovac, section Lipovljani – Nova Gradiška in Croatia, part of TEN-T Mediterranean corridor, with a poor safety performance.

By installing approximately 175 km of guardrails on both sides of the motorway in each direction, it will address an accident-prone section of the TEN-T core network in accordance with Directives 2008/96/EC and 2019/1936.

Project goal

The overall objective of the project is to improve the safety of Croatian motorways by installing guardrails on the most critical and accident-prone section and harmonizing the system with the EU Directive (2008/96/EC) and other relevant legislation.

The implementation of the project will result in a reduced number of road accidents, improved service quality and customer satisfaction.
