Project description

The project addresses the studies for the construction of a 72 km new double-track railway section on the railway line Skradnik-Krasica-Tijani for freight and passenger traffic, on the pre-identified section Rijeka-Zagreb-Budapest. The section will be designed for an axle load of at least 22.5t and for a design speed of 120-160 km/h. The maximum train length will be 750m.

Project goal

The deliverables of the project will lead to the next phase of studies for this railway section which is the completion of the final design that will allow for the submission of the construction permits.

The project will promote the development of an efficient and competitive railway transport along the Mediterranean corridor. The general objectives of the project are removing a railway bottleneck on the Croatian section of the Mediterranean corridor, improving railway service quality, both for passengers and freight, decreasing running time, and improving the competitiveness of railway transport.
