Project description

The project refers to the reconstruction of the existing track and the construction of a second track on the 44.02 km section Hrvatski Leskovac-Karlovac on the M202 Zagreb Gk-Rijeka railway line.

In addition to the reconstruction and construction of the second track, the project includes the reconstruction of the stations, electric traction substation, individual level crossings, bridges, viaducts and other facilities, stops, conversion of a station into a stop, installation of an electronic signal safety device, level 1 ETCS and the traffic-management infrastructure subsystem with remote control of external elements, electrification with the 25 kV/50 Hz system, construction of underpasses and overpasses, new arched roads for abolition of existing level crossings, construction of noise protection walls and a closed drainage system.

Project goal

Completion of the project will enable the introduction of high-quality urban and suburban passenger transport, increase mobility, increase the contribution of public passenger transport, which enables the introduction of quality integrated passenger transport.

The project plans to raise the speed on the section to a maximum of 160 km/h, except in the area of ​​Mavračić, Jastrebarski and Karlovac, where the speed will be 120 and 140 km/h, respectively, due to space limitations.
