Project description

The project includes the expansion of St. Peter’s Pier to create additional handling space for loading vehicles and increase the capacity for mooring vessels.

The pier is being expanded on the northern side, extending the existing shoreline by 53 meters, which will provide 5,350 m² of new shoreside handling area. The construction of two new and the extension and expansion of three existing ro-ro (ferry) ramps is planned. The pier will have two 100-meter berths and one berth each of 108 m, 147 m and 188 m in length, with five ferry ramps, one of which will be 30 meters wide and four of which will be 20 to 22.5 meters wide.

Project goal

The main goal of the project is to increase the availability and quality of coastal liner traffic with the islands from the Port of Split.

The new infrastructure will enable the reception of larger vessels, including ferries, and reduce traffic congestion in the center of Split. The expansion of the handling area will reduce crowds and shorten the boarding time for passengers and vehicles.
