The Action includes: extension of the existing primary breakwater, increasing the capacity for communal berths, reconstruction of the existing primary breakwater head, partial reconstruction of the walkable surface of the existing primary breakwater, reconstruction of the stone revetment on the outward slope of the existing primary breakwater and the laying of necessary infrastructure for water supply and electrical installations under the walking surface of the existing part and the extension of the breakwater.

Landscaping of the coast “Podbaran” includes: raising of the coastal edge, installation of new mooring equipment for communal vessels, installation of ‘sailor’s stairs’ to increase safety and ground improvement of the wider coastal area.

Project goal

Port Authority Novi Vinodolski is partnered with the City of Novi Vinodolski in the implementation of the project Reconstruction of the main breakwater in the Port of Novi Vinodolski, with the aim of protecting the port’s waters from prevailing winds and rising sea levels in order to enable the safety of moorings and the wider coastal area in all weather conditions and to increase the capacity of communal berths by 15 units, along with the reconstruction of 50 communal berths.

At the same time, the Project contributes to the realization of the long-term goals of the City, but also of the Port Authority, which solve the challenges and needs of the local economy, social environment, infrastructure and traffic. Through the multiplier effects of the Project, it will directly respond to the development challenges of population aging and depopulation, climate change, competitiveness, spontaneous urbanization and centralization.
