Project summary

The project envisages the reconstruction of the Puntin pier on the western shore of the Port of Korčula with the aim of improving the quality of maritime public transport and increasing the safety of passengers on the year-round high-speed lines 9807 Lastovo – Korčula – Polače – Sobra – Šipanska Luka – Dubrovnik and 9608 Korčula – Prigradica – Hvar – Split and the conventional service 614 Korčula – Orebić (Pelješac).

Project activities include the improvement of the foundation soil, reinforcement and binding of the pier construction, removal of the inadequate seawall, construction of a new layered seawall and construction work to permanently secure the pier against damage and deformation. The implementation of the project shall ensure the long-term sustainability of the year-round transport service for the local population and improve the maritime connections of the island of Korčula.
