This development significantly expanded the port&#8217;s intermodal capabilities, improving operational efficiency and enhancing the terminal\u2019s role as a key logistics hub in the northern Adriatic.            <\/h3>\n            <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Su\u0161ak basin, which serves as a hub for handling conventional general cargo and timber, the project successfully delivered major improvements to rail infrastructure. Four new railway tracks were constructed at the intermodal terminal, along with a new shunting area positioned between these tracks and the existing tunnel connecting the terminal to the Rijeka-Brajdica railway station. Additionally, four of the eight existing tracks at the Rijeka-Brajdica station were extended, while the remaining four were fully reconstructed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The works also included the development of a second shunting area between the upgraded tracks and the connecting tunnel, the construction of two service buildings to house signalling, safety, and telecommunication equipment, and the widening of the existing tunnel. A new 382-meter-long track was laid within the tunnel, complemented by comprehensive supporting infrastructure such as water supply, drainage systems, electrical installations, and modern signalling and telecommunication systems.
