Project summary

The project envisages the upgrade of Crikvenica’s existing port of county importance in order to satisfy all safety demands of improved year-round passenger transport regardless of tourist load thus enabling the integration of Croatian islands into the wider traffic network.

The planned investments relate to the improvement of port safety, construction of a secondary breakwater for the purpose of guarding the port against waves resulting from third and fourth quadrant wind flows, extension of the Mala Palada protective pier in a regular T-shaped ground plan for wave protection in the newly planned port basin and deepening of the port to -3,0 m. The performance of the listed activities is necessary for the smooth operation of the Crikvenica – Šilo (island of Krk) line.
