Project summary

The project included the construction of a new, 3,88 km long Petrijevci bypass.

The state road D34 running through the center of Petrijevci, a densely populated area with residential development on both sides, resulted in significant traffic congestion, frequent bottlenecks, and extended travel times due to the combination of local and high-volume transit traffic between Osijek and Valpovo.

To address these challenges, the Petrijevci bypass has been successfully constructed and is now fully operational. The new bypass route effectively diverts transit and intercity traffic away from the town center, resulting in a substantial reduction in congestion and travel delays. The project has significantly improved access to the TEN-T network, enhanced overall traffic safety, and contributed to lower noise pollution and greenhouse gas emissions within the Petrijevci municipality.
