Project summary
The project included the reconstruction and widening of the existing pier to 80 m in length, 6 m in width, and a height of +1.60 m above the water line, with a minimum depth of -5.0 m alongside the pier. It also involved the installation of 20 m wide ferry embarkation and disembarkation ramps on both sides, as well as the construction of an operational plateau covering approximately 3,200 m².
Under favorable marine, hydraulic, and meteorological conditions, both ferry ramps will be used equally, while the more sheltered northern ramp will be preferred during rough seas. The completion of the external berth upgrade projects in the ports of Sućuraj and Drvenik has improved port infrastructure, increased capacity, and enhanced safety on the Drvenik–Sućuraj ferry line. This has created conditions for introducing higher-capacity vehicle and passenger ferries and has also helped alleviate traffic congestion at other ports on the island of Hvar.
