Project summary

The project envisages the development of a study supporting the introduction of the Technical Specification for Interoperability for Telematics Applications for Passenger Services (TAP TSI), and the Technical Specification for Interoperability for Telematics Applications for Freight Services (TAF TSI).

TAP and TAF are subsystems of the trans-European rail system. Their implementation will be ensured by supporting the Infrastructure Managers and Railway Undertakings in developing Telematics Reference Files, merging the existing TAF and TAP Reference Files sets to be used in the Telematics framework and by other registers managed by ERA or the rail sector, as well as supporting the rail stakeholders in implementing and ensuring the compliance of the rail system and its sub-systems with the TAF and TAP TSI, developing and implementing the unique Train ID in line with the commitment expressed in the TSI TAF and TAP master plans to replace the Operation Train Number already in use.
