Project summary

The project envisages the extension of the primary breakwater Vela Riva (phase 1) by 50,55 m measured along the outer edge, and the extension of the secondary breakwater Mala Riva (phase 2) by 105,00 m measured along the outer edge.

Both breakwaters will be used to receive passenger liners depending on the wind conditions. Once the port has been upgraded, the infrastructure will be suitable for the vessel operating on the Baška-Lopar-Baška line. The implementation of project activities shall protect the port basin, provide adequate mooring and safe berth for liners, satisfy the preconditions for the development of liner traffic, contribute to improved connections of the island of Rab with the mainland via the port of Baška and a higher level of service for users of public ship lines.
