Project summary
The project involved the extension of the primary breakwater Vela Riva (phase 1) by 50.55 m measured along the outer edge, and the extension of the secondary breakwater Mala Riva (phase 2) by 105.00 m measured along the outer edge. Both extensions have been completed as planned.
Both breakwaters are now used to receive passenger liners depending on wind conditions. Following the port upgrade, the infrastructure is suitable for vessels operating on the Baška-Lopar-Baška line.
The completed project activities have protected the port basin, provided adequate mooring and safe berths for liners, met the preconditions for the development of liner traffic, and contributed to improved connections between the island of Rab and the mainland via the port of Baška. This has resulted in a higher level of service for users of public ship lines.
