Project summary

The project envisages construction of a new bridge connecting the Mainland with the Island of Čiovo, connecting roads linking it to the existing road network, and reconstruction of existing roads.

The length of the bridge is 552,1 m, and the width 12 m (7,5 m roadway and 2×2,25 m footpath). Total access road length is approx. 3,5 km. Additionally, reconstruction works will be performed on approx. 10 km of existing roads. The construction of the bridge and the connecting roads should relieve traffic congestion in the centre of Trogir, the island of Čiovo and the Split agglomeration, accelerate traffic flow, improve the island of Čiovo’s connection to the mainland, increase traffic safety and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and their negative impact on the historical centre of Trogir.
