Project summary

The project involved the construction of a new bridge connecting the Mainland with the Island of Čiovo, the development of connecting roads linking it to the existing road network, and the reconstruction of existing roads. All works have been completed as planned.

The bridge measures 552.1 m in length and 12 m in width, including a 7.5 m roadway and two 2.25 m footpaths. The total length of the access roads is approximately 3.5 km, alongside reconstruction of about 10 km of existing roads. The completed construction has relieved traffic congestion in the centre of Trogir, the island of Čiovo, and the Split agglomeration, accelerated traffic flow, improved Čiovo’s connection to the mainland, increased traffic safety, and reduced greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on the historic centre of Trogir.
