Project description

The project included the construction of a 509.8 m underpass in St L.B. Mandić Street, under the Osijek-Zagreb railway, the construction of two bridges (road and railway), the construction of a road under the bridges, and the construction of connecting roads with associated infrastructure. This infrastructure included pedestrian and bicycle paths on the underpass itself, as well as the installation of public lighting, sanitary sewage, and storm drains, enabling uninterrupted traffic flow.

Project results

The project successfully removed the bottleneck and prevented frequent traffic blockages in the wider city center of Osijek caused by stops and waiting at the level crossing. It also contributed to reducing the share of car travel in favor of public transport and cyclists, while decreasing travel time.
