The project envisages the preparation of an Environmental Impact Assessment, a conceptual design along with obtaining a location permit, preparation of the main project, settling property rights, performing a control of the conceptual and main project by auditors and obtaining a Declaration of conformity for the reconstruction and construction of a second track, in the total length of 10,7 km, on the section Zagreb Main Station – Hrvatski Leskovac.

Project goal

The proposed project will serve as a foundation for the implementation of works on this section of the railway network whereby a bottleneck will be removed on the previously identified section of the TEN-T Core Network Mediterranean Corridor, Rijeka-Zagreb-Budapest. The aforemendtioned will ultimately result in increased speed of up to 160km/h, increased railroad capacity, and harmonization of the section with the current TSI for railroad infrastructure subsystems.
