Project summary

The project envisages the reconstruction and widening of the existing pier to the length of 80 m, width of 6 m, height of +1,60 m above the water line and minimal depth of -5,0 m along the pier, installation of 20 m wide embarkation / disembarkation ferry ramps on both sides of the pier and construction of an operating plateau with a surface area of approx. 3200 m2.

In favorable marine hydraulic and meteorological conditions both ramps will be used equally, whreas the more sheltered, northern ramp will be used during rough seas. The completion of the project of upgrading the external berth in the ports of Sućuraj and Drvenik will improve port infrastructure, increase the capacity and improve the safety of the Drvenik – Sućuraj ferry line, thus providing conditions for the introduction of higher-capacity vehicle and passenger ferries. Furthermore, an improved connection between the ports of Sućuraj and Drvenik will relieve traffic in other ports on the island of Hvar.
