Project summary

The project envisages the reconstruction of the railway infrastructure connecting the quays and piers of the Rijeka basin.

The Rijeka basin is the area of the port situated right in front of the city core which is used mostly for transshipment of conventional general cargo, grain, fruit and phosphates. The project activities include the removal of the existing infrastructure and equipment, reconstruction of 7,305 m of railway tracks with pertaining installations and 905 m of gantry train tracks, construction of 1,002 m of new rail tracks and 157 m of gantry crane tracks, replacement of a concrete pavement surface of 107,394 m2, reconstruction of the drainage, waste water and water supply systems, and reconstruction of electrical installations.
