Project description
The project envisages the construction of a new ferry slip in Stinica bay, the port of call for the national ferry line 337 Mišnjak-Stinica.
The intervention includes works on the part of the coast supporting the slip, as well as works on the part of the coast featuring two bulwarks and access walkways. The new slip will be orientated in such a way that bora winds break vertically on the prow (instead of laterally) and thus do not interfere with ferry docking and casting-off manoeuvres.
Project goal
The implementation of the project will lead to an increase in the annual number of completed voyages by at least 50, concentrated in the period between October and March when weather causes the greatest disruption to the sailing schedule.
Project objectives:
- Improvement of transport connectivity between the island of Rab and the mainland (particularly during severe weather season), as well as the city of Senja and the rest of the County,
- Reduction in embarkation/disembarkation waiting times for passengers and vehicles, resulting in reduction in total travel time.
