Project summary

The project envisages the preparation of a study for the construction of an LNG (Liquified natural gas – LNG) bunkering station to fill the LNG bunker boats and LNG bunker trucks in the Rijeka basin area.

The bunker station is required to comply with the Directive 2014/94/EU on the deployment of the alternative fuels infrastructure. The project activities include the preparation of the conceptual solution in which main technical and technological solutions required for construction of the LNG bunker facility are proposed, the development of an environmental assessment and the analysis of the impact on the ecological network, the obtaining of the location permit, the preparation of the main design, the obtaining of the construction permit and the preparation of the maritime study to analyse the impact of the LNG transporting vessels on the local sea traffic. The project is part of a broader regional project of the West Mediterranean ″Motorways of the Sea″ networks, and it is being implemented in the cooperation with the partners from Portugal, Spain, France, Italy and Slovenia.
