Project summary

The project supported the installation of avionics equipment on board Croatia Airlines’ Dash-8 Q400 fleet to enable the use of signals from the European satellite network GALILEO and the EGNOS (European Geostationary Navigation Overlay Service) navigation system. This upgrade allows for precision landings using Localizer Performance with Vertical guidance (LPV) approaches.

The equipment demonstrated an exceptional degree of navigational accuracy and uninterrupted signal reception during airborne operational testing. Its use is expected to contribute to increased flight safety.

Moreover, the implementation of the project has resulted in reduced fuel consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, and improved the time-in-air to distance ratio.
