Project description
The goal of the project is the reconstruction and extension of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV, the corresponding pier and the Liburnian coast, in the area of the port of Zadar – Peninsula, thereby providing conditions for regular and safe operation of coastal maritime traffic between Zadar and surrounding islands.
The project encompasses the reconstruction of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV, 905.82 m long and 5.0 to 5.6 m wide, as well as the reconstruction (approx. 64.5 m) and extension (15 m) of the pier in question. The final dimension of the pier will be 80×15 m, allowing the accommodation of vessels. The project also envisages the reconstruction of the landward side of the Liburnian Coast, 600 m long and 5 m wide. The project can, in terms of reconstruction, be divided into two parts: the reconstruction of the coastal wall and the pier.
Phase I of the works envisages the construction of a new foundation structure and wall of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV. Phase II envisages the construction of a new foundation structure and the wall of the pier, including the pier’s extension.
Reconstruction of the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV, as well as reconstruction and extension of the pier in question will create conditions allowing the relocation of the ferry line 409 Zadar – Preko, the busiest state line, from the Liburnian Coast to the pier on the Coast of King Petar Krešimir IV.
