Project summary

The project envisages removal of the bottleneck caused by significant limitations of the Adriatic Gate Container Terminal (AGCT). It is aimed to improve the efficiency of cargo handling on the terminal, raise sea depth along the terminal, and permit berthing of larger vessels.

The project activities include upgrading the existing infrastructure by dredging works and ancillary interventions along 100m of the Phase I quay wall, bringing it to the same 14,88m sea depth as the adjacent 328m Phase II quay wall. This will result in a 428m quay wall with a sea depth of 14.88m, thus enabling the accommodation of bigger container vessels.
